We track and improve the operational energy efficiency by identifying areas that require upgrades through effective audit mechanisms. We invest in better alternatives and improvements in areas such as compressed air, energy efficiency in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and lighting systems, insulation, heat recovery, energy efficient motor transition, and process optimization.

By the end of 2021, we have implemented a total of 228 energy efficiency projects in our manufacturing plants included in the report’s scope, and saved approximately 63,000 GJ of energy. This increase in efficiency resulted in a reduction of 5,514 tons of CO2e emissions and a financial saving of EUR 773,932.

Solar Business

As a new business field, Arçelik has stepped up its investments in renewable energy systems. Since 2019, the Arçelik and Arçelik Pazarlama A.Ş. Energy Management teams have been working in the solar energy sector as part of Koç Holding's solar panel project, having received the Energy Efficiency Consultancy Company certification from Turkey’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. The energy teams collaborate on engineering, system selection, installation and follow-up on permit processes, system monitoring, and maintenance of solar energy systems.

We offer two types of solar panels to the market through our solar business: 540W for industrial and 455W for private consumption. Both solutions were released into the Turkish market with 12-year product warranties and at least 83% linear performance guarantee over a period of 25 years.

Moreover, industries that have experience with solar energy system engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) were transferred to Arçelik Solar dealers. 30 dealers are in operation as of 2022.
