Waste Management
At Arçelik, we monitor our waste according to European Waste Codes (EWC) on a monthly basis for each production facility. The collected data is consolidated by the central environment team for any possible improvements and shared with internal and external stakeholders.
With an improvement perspective, we adopt the near-zero waste approach during our waste management efforts. Our waste reduction approach focuses on reduce, reusing, and recycling waste, as well as decreasing the amount of waste directed to landfill or non-energy recovery incineration. In line with this approach, we have set a target to increase the waste recycling rate in all our manufacturing facilities to 99% compared to a 2024 baseline.
To support our waste reduction approach, in line with ourwaste management approach, we identified areas to improve our performance and planned a roadmap. In this regard, Arçelik;
-
Enhances resource efficiency and applies solutions that help reduce the amount of virgin raw materials used,
-
Works to prevent and reduce operational waste,
-
Redesigns product manufacturing processes to help decrease overall chemical consumption and waste generation,
-
Enhances waste separation practices at the source, and
-
Increases the rate of waste directed to recycling and energy recovery instead of landfill.
