During his visit, the  UK Minister of State for  International Trade Greg Hands was accompanied by a delegation including Judith Slater, the British Consul General to Istanbul and Neil Floyd, Deputy Consul-General and Head of Trade and Investment. At the meeting that was hosted by Hakan Bulgurlu, the General Manager of Arçelik A.Ş. and Ragıp Balcıoğlu, the Assistant General Manager for International Sales, the market activities and future targets of Arçelik A.Ş., the market leader in the United Kingdom with its brand Beko, were discussed.

The trade delegation that included Greg Hands, the UK Minister of State for International Trade, Judith Slater, the British Consul General to Istanbul and Neil Floyd, Deputy Consul-General and Head of  Head of Trade and Investment were hosted at the Head Office of Arçelik A.Ş. by executives.

During the visit where ideas about the trade relations between the two countries were exchanged, the global growth plans and objectives of Arçelik A.Ş., especially Beko's activities in the British market were discussed. Having the capacity for providing products and services for the needs of consumers in different geographical regions, Arçelik A.Ş. designs products that enhance the living standards of its British consumers.

We are proud to have Arcelik/BEKO in the UK for the last 25 years and the Department for International Trade will continue supporting Arcelik/BEKO in the future” about the visit they made to Arçelik A.Ş.

Expressing their pleasure for having hosted the United Kingdom Trade and Investment Delegation at their Head Office, Hakan Bulgurlu emphasised that investments of Arçelik A.Ş. in the R&D and technology areas play an important role in Beko's success.

Stating that they are a company with the highest number of international patent applications in Turkey in line with the R&D and innovation investments, Bulgurlu remarked: "We ranked 78th in the World Intellectual Property Organisation's (WIPO) list of the companies that apply for international patents the most. In accordance with our branded growth strategy, our aim is to increase our market share in the markets where we do business and to strengthen the position of our brand even further by improving our investments according to consumer dynamics. The British market where we have become the leader by selling 2.6 million products each year is quite important to us. We consider the UK as our second home."
