Following the greenhouse gas emissions audit conducted by BSI, an independent company, Arctic, the leading brand of Arçelik in Romania, became entitled to be granted 'Verification Certificate' due to being in conformity with ISO 14064-1 standard.

Arctic issued the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory for 2015 in accordance with the international ISO 14064-1 standard. A 'Verification Certificate' was granted to Arctic after the audit made by BSI (British Standards Institution), an independent accreditation body.

Within the context of the studies conducted by Arçelik A.Ş. in line with its 'Respects the Globe, Respected Globally' vision, greenhouse gas emissions from 6 campus areas where the company's 8 domestic manufacturing plants are found, and from Sütlüce campus incorporating the headquarters, have been calculated and verified pursuant to ISO 14064-1 Standard since 2010. With the project initiated at the end of 2015, Arçelik A.Ş. Arctic Refrigerator Plant in Romania was also included in the scope of this study.

EN ISO 14064-1 standard is the first standard of ISO 14064 series that contain 3 standards. Having been published under the name of 'Specification with Guidance at the Organisation Level for Quantification and Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Removals', this standard has the management standard characteristics such as ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 9001 in addition to incorporating engineering details and calculations like emission sources' measurement; measurement quality; data collection, storage and safety; controlling and tracking consumptions; digital quantities regarding consumptions; emission coefficients; numerical emission calculations. Greenhouse gas emissions and greenhouse gas report calculated according to the standard is verified by a 3rd party organisation. The verified report constructs the basis for the organisations to plan identifications and reduction activities regarding greenhouse gases.

Supporting the global initiatives about reducing the effects of climate change, Arçelik has been showing an exemplary performance by being awarded at the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) -which is regarded as the most prestigious environmental initiative of the world- every year since 2012. In 2014, Arçelik got the A performance score, the highest degree of CDP Performance Rating, and became the first company in Turkey to enter this list in its sector.
