Arctic company implements extra precautionary measures to prevent the potential spread of the Coronavirus

Bucharest, March 16th, 2020 – Out of concerns around COVID-19 and its evolution in Europe and Romania as well, Arctic company, the leader of the white goods market in Romania, have already implemented precautionary measures, both in the central office and the factories in Ulmi and Gaesti, as the health and safety of the employees and the communities are company’s top priorities. 

As a preventive measure, Arctic company cancelled all unnecessary business travels and reduced the number of face to face meetings using online communication channels. All employees’ travel plans are restricted until further notice. Moreover, the company strengthened the cleanliness and hygiene measures, as well as the frequency of the daytime cleaning both in the headquarter and the factories, including extra cleaning of high-volume touchpoints. Hygiene kits (surgical masks, alcohol-based disinfected) were installed in all traffic points and facilities.

For those critical roles that need to be performed in the factories in order to ensure business continuity, additional measures have been taken to ensure safety at the workplace. All the buildings’ common areas and facilities are constantly being disinfected, including the buses used for the employees’ commute, in order to prevent any potential spread. The factories are also equipped with thermographic cameras and disinfection carpets at the access gate. Cleaning devices for trucks coming from high-risk areas were installed at the warehouse at the Gaesti factory. All the employees are informed about preventive measures for protection and meetings with the production teams to raise awareness and responsibility take place constantly.

The company is following and abiding by official recommendations made by the Romanian local health authorities and is adapting constantly required changes to its internal policies and actions plans through the crisis management team.
